Easy Rice Pilaf served with a side of oven roasted fries is a family favorite!
Ingredients
- 1 cup long grain rice
- ½ cup mixed vegetables, frozen
- 3 cloves
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 1 small cardamom (optional)
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1tsp canola oil
- 2 cups water
Directions
- Warm ½ tsp oil in a pan for 30 seconds and add rice to coat it with the oil. Remove and set aside.
- Warm the other ½ tsp oil with the spices for 30 seconds. Add the vegetables, turmeric and sauté till the vegetables are defrosted.
- Cook the vegetable spice mixture, rice and water in a rice cooker for 20 minutes.
